2-Pack G2 Self-Draining / Self-Bailing Kayak Scupper Plugs

The G2 (Second Generation) self-draining kayak scupper plugs are the latest addition to our ever growing line of custom fit scupper plugs. We have taken your feedback from the first generation plugs and developed this new line with advanced features. The G2 scupper plugs offers 75% better drain flow thanks to an all-new drain valve. We then added drain channels to help eliminate even more standing water the may accumulate below the plug top.

For years Kayak Scupper Plugs has been supplying custom fit kayak scupper plugs kit for most kayak makes and models. We are happy to now offer the latest in scupper plug innovation. These self-draining or self-bailing scupper plugs are designed and manufactured by Kayak Scupper Plugs. This unique plug design allows water to drain from the kayak while still preventing water from rising from below the kayak. It truly is the best of both worlds because we all know water is going to find a way into the kayak and these plugs both block and drain water in one single plug. You have to try them to believe how effective they are!

The self-bailing scupper plugs can only be removed from below by pushing them up and out of place. For your safety you should remove the self-draining scupper plugs prior to entering rough water conditions where the open factory equipped scupper holes can function as designed to drain large amounts of water quickly.

Sold in packs of two, these plug have a slight taper for a tight fit when installed. This is better than universal plugs with an extreme taper because those plugs tend to not hold as secure which makes them prone to leaking and becoming dislodged easily.

Made in the USA

When measuring…

  1. Be sure to check each scupper hole to be plugged. They can and do vary from hole to hole.

  2. Measure to the nearest 1/8” at the section of the scupper hole where it is completely round and begins from a straight cylinder wall. You can download our Scupper Hole Size Gauge free of charge to help with the measurements.

  3. Select a plug size that has your scupper hole measurement somewhere near the middle of the taper range. For example if your scupper hole is 1-1/4”, you would want to select our 1-3/16” - 1-7/16”. This means that when the plug is installed, it will be approximately halfway in. If a larger plug is selected it will sit too high and be easy to be knocked out. If a smaller plug is selected it may sit lower but it may also not be large enough to press tightly in the scupper hole for a proper seal.
